It does shed some new light on Gwyn, the Furtive Pygmy, what was going on before the first Dark Souls, what goes into creating a world, and perhaps most ultimately, what the titular "Dark Soul" actually is, but it does so in typical Souls fashion where everything is so intentionally vague and cryptic that it feels like anything you could gleam from this DLC would be just speculation and fan fiction. As the final bit of DLC for the entire series, I'm sure a lot of people were hoping for some answers to some of the nagging lore questions that have been around since the first Dark Souls, but this DLC may actually pose more questions than it answers. Spears of the Church covenant item – allows you to join said covenant.Per usual, the story is so incredibly vague this time around, with no clear explanation for what's going on. He should turn around towards you – approach him while he’s turning, slap him a couple of times, and get under him as soon as he starts another combo. The best way to bait him is to run under him when he starts a melee combo, and go past his tail. Don’t try to push it – just focus on staying alive until you have an opportunity to land two or three hits. If you’re not one for magic, you should use a lightning-infused weapon (or Lightning Arrow miracle) and aim for the head. Several castings later, he’ll be down for the count. Simply get under him, cast it, then run circles around him and try to dodge his attacks. If you’re playing a sorcerer, you can cheese him using Pestilent Mercury, a sorcery sold by Orbeck of Vinheim. The second encounter is the harder of the two. Get behind the rock you used earlier until he calms down, then finish him off. When he gets down to 30% health, he’ll go crazy. After the flames die down, go back to the left hand and slash away. When he moves, run to the outcrop where he keeps his left hand and stay there. After he stops breathing fire, run up to him and attack his right hand and keep near the cliff. When you reach him for the first time, hide behind the rock on the left.
